Exploring the Exciting Beach Opportunities of the Island.
Fine ochre-colored grains, pristine pebbles, cliffs, and even the striking black sand: the beaches of Elba Island offer a truly astonishing variety, always accompanied by breathtaking views and turquoise crystal-clear waters. Anyone who loves the sea finds, as soon as they land, a true natural paradise, whose continuous diversity offers an embarrassment of riches. But the beauty is that you don’t have to choose: during a vacation on the island, you can explore and appreciate all the wonderful beach settings the island has to offer. Once you arrive with our ferries to Elba, to help you navigate, we’ve compiled a list of ten of the most beautiful beaches on the island:
SANSONE BEACH A stretch of pristine white pebbles lapped by crystal-clear turquoise waters. This enchanting beach is truly a little slice of earthly paradise, reachable through a charming path surrounded by greenery.
FELCIAIO BEACH Nestled in the gentle hills of the island, this small beach is carved out of a cozy cove that embraces tranquil emerald green waters.
CALA DEI FRATI To find clear and unspoiled waters, you don’t have to go to the Caribbean: Cala dei Frati, named after the ancient convent above, is a true postcard to dive into without hesitation. To reach it, you’ll need to dip your feet in the water… a sweet sacrifice!
S. ANDREA BEACH Sand and granite rocks compete for this enchanting piece of sea, where the deep blue fades into clear azure where the water is shallower. Impossible not to take a dip!
FETOVAIA BEACH Perhaps the most beautiful beach on Elba: just set foot on its soft and welcoming sand to feel instantly on vacation. As a crown around this strip of sand, lush vegetation composed of holm oaks, brooms, and wild bushes.
LACONELLA BEACH Shallow Tiffany green waters and fine sand make this bay the perfect setting for a film… or the ideal location for your holidays! Not far away, at Punta della Contessa promontory, snorkeling is not just recommended: it’s imperative!
TERRANERA BEACH A thin strip of land separates the sea from a lake. This is Terranera Beach, rugged and wild, with dark sand in the lower layer, the result of the island’s ancient mining activity. Behind it, indeed, there is a sulphurous lake with brackish water of a brilliant green color: an unmissable sight.
CALA NESPORTINO BEACH To the northeast of the island, a beach with a wild, quiet, and less frequented charm: located very close to the northern tip of the island, it offers a delightful view. Here too, as in the rest of the island, the sea is clear and crystalline, perfect for long and satisfying swims.
ACQUARILI BEACH The lack of immediate access to this beach only adds to its charm: exotic black pebbles serve as a prelude to an endless blue sea, bounded on both sides by two lush promontories, making this enchanting beach a secluded and isolated place to enjoy the sun in absolute tranquility.
FORNO BEACH One of the most famous beaches on the island: its fine sand stretches for over half a kilometer and gently slopes, maintaining shallow waters for a long time. Like all masterpieces, this beach has a wonderful frame: the spectacular Mediterranean maquis in which it is immersed.
