THE BLU NAVY STORY

2010

BN di Navigazione is founded and acquires the M/V Prime Rose. With a ticket office at the Piombino maritime station and one at Portoferraio, connections begin with 6 daily trips between the two ports.
2011

The M/V Prime Rose is replaced by the M/V Achaeos, with a capacity for 600 passengers and 110 cars. The daily crossings increase to 8. A new ticket office is opened in Piombino.
2012

The M/V Achaeos is replaced by the much larger and more comfortable M/V Acciarello. The ship has a capacity of 800 passengers and 220 cars. The daily crossings increase to 10.
2013

The Hoteliers' Association on the Island of Elba and Elba Sol joined the company. The company has introduced various tariff concessions for residents and owners of second homes on the Island of Elba, meeting with enormous approval from Elba's community.
2014

Blu Navy was publicly praised for its on-time connections to the Island of Elba. Large investments are made in the commercial sector by participating in the most important national and international Tourism Fairs.
2015

The M/V Acciarello is purchased and a complete restyling of the ship's lounge and bar is carried out. The Company is the first to provide a passenger assistance service on board, by introducing the role of Hostess. The Company moved its registered office from Milan to the Island of Elba and changed its corporate designation from Srl to SpA.
2016

The N/T Ichnusa was purchased and a new connection between Santa Teresa Gallura (Sardinia) and Bonifacio (Corsica) was opened.
2017

The entire fleet came under the ISM management of BN di Navigazione with its operational headquarters in Piombino. Both the website and the logo design have changed.
2018

BN di Navigazione, in accordance with the new ISO 45001:2018 standard, has been certified by Rina for the provision of passenger and vehicle transport services with its own vessels and associated technical and operational management.
2019

BN di Navigazione Spa announces the extension of winter services on the Piombino-Portoferraio route with 3 sets of crossings.
2021

In a difficult historical period, Blu Navy redoubles its commitment by bringing the summer schedule to 16 trips with the use of two bi-directional ships.
2023

Blu Navy is increasingly successful and, after the summer season, confirms its presence in the area, guaranteeing continuity of service all year round thanks to the comfort and punctuality of the 2 ships, with 16 trips a day from Piombino to Portoferraio and back.
