A destination full of charm

With its ancient origins and named Fabricia in Etruscan-Roman times, Portoferraio still retains its Renaissance charm: from the walls built in 1500 by Cosimo de' Medici, to Forte Stella – one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe – to the Villa that hosted Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile, and to the Roman residences from the Hadrian period and the characteristic historical centre, there are many places to visit and beautiful sites to remember.

If you are travelling with your own vehicle, simply go to the Portoferraio port gate with a ticket (digital version only).

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

There is a local and regional bus service from other parts of the island that stops in front of the ferry embarkation point.
